I’m a journalist, editor, professional communicator and writing instructor in New York State with more than a decade of writing, reporting, scripting, social media strategy, audio production, broadcasting and digital storytelling experience.
NOW: Arts reporter at the alternative monthly CITY magazine in Rochester, N.Y. and a contributor to WXXI News and occasional host of the talk show Connections. I’ve taught arts reporting at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School and been a first-tier judge for the annual Mirror Awards, which recognize excellence in media industry reporting.
THEN: Former editor at MTV News, where I published hundreds of artist profiles, news stories, obituaries and industry reports. I also edited scripts for the digital news series Need To Know. My reporting has been cited in the music books It Starts With One: The Legend and Legacy of Linkin Park and Such Great Heights: The Complete Cultural History of the Indie Rock Explosion.
